IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE FIT

Pre-cut means easier - but not always completely adjustment-free

The construction of the lights and the accessible edges vary between vehicle models. Depending on the light, installation method and selected coverage, the film may therefore need to be folded around an edge or finish-trimmed after positioning and shaping.

OPTION 1

Fold the film around the edge

If the light has an accessible edge, the film can be shaped and folded around it for a discreet finish and greater coverage.

OPTION 2

Trim away the excess

If the edge is enclosed or difficult to reach, carefully trim away the excess film for an even finish.

ALWAYS USEFUL TO HAVE

Always keep a sharp knife available

Even pre-cut film may require fine adjustment. Use a clean, sharp knife with a light touch and take great care near the light, paintwork, trim and wiring.

Recommended installation accessories

Have an installation squeegee, spray bottle and application fluid, microfibre cloth, heat gun and sharp precision knife ready before you begin. The tools required depend on the shape of the light, the selected installation method and your experience.

We always recommend keeping a knife available, even when the film is pre-cut, as an edge or detail may need to be fine-adjusted on the vehicle.

CONTROLLED SHAPING

Shape curved areas with hot air

On curved and more complex lights, gradually shape the film with a heat gun. Keep the heat source moving and work methodically to avoid overheating the film or the light.

Always follow the complete installation guide for cleaning, positioning, shaping, squeegeeing and final edge finishing.

INSTALLATION AT A GLANCE

From a clean light to a finished result

The pre-cut shape reduces preparation, but a good final result still requires thorough cleaning, careful shaping and correct edge finishing.

STEP 1

Clean thoroughly

Remove dirt, grease, wax and other residue from the light and its edges.

STEP 2

Test-fit the film

Check the orientation, fit and the type of edge finish suitable for the light.

STEP 3

Position and squeegee

Install wet or dry as instructed and work out the application fluid and air.

STEP 4

Shape with heat

Gradually heat and shape the film over the curved areas of the light.

STEP 5

Finish the edges

Fold the film around the edge where possible, or carefully trim away the excess.

CAREFULLY DESIGNED CONSTRUCTION

Three layers that protect during installation

ProShield® consists of a liner over the adhesive side, the 0.2 mm film itself and a removable scratch-protection top layer. This construction helps keep the adhesive clean and the visible surface protected while the film is handled.

LAYER 1

Liner over the adhesive side

Removed before installation so that the film's adhesive side can be positioned against the cleaned light.

LAYER 2

ProShield® 0.2 mm

The impact-absorbing main layer provides the protection and the final high-gloss surface.

LAYER 3

Scratch-protection top layer

Protects the film surface during installation and is removed as the installation approaches completion.

3-year product warranty

ProShield® headlight film is covered by a 3-year product warranty against fading, incorrect colour reproduction and cracking, in accordance with the applicable warranty terms.

The warranty requires the film to be installed and used as intended. Normal wear, installation damage and damage caused by external influences are not covered unless otherwise stated in the terms.

Important information about coloured and tinted films

Coloured or tinted film may affect the light pattern and light transmission. You are responsible for ensuring that the selected film and its installation comply with the regulations applicable where the vehicle is used. Do not cover sensors, reflectors or other functions that must remain unobstructed.
